How can I get a searchable PDF?

With Genius Scan+ and its Text Recognition feature, the PDFs you create will have a text layer in addition to the image layer.

You first need to activate Text Recognition. Then every new document that you scan (or any page that you edit) will be re-processed with OCR. Once a document has been processed with OCR, it will contain a text layer when you export it as PDF.
