If you still have the problem, this means you don't have Genius Scan 7.27.1 or above. Make sure you force the update as described above.
Do I have to upgrade/pay to restore service?
No, no! This issue is caused by a bug, and you need to update to Genius Scan 7.27.1 or above to fix it. If you subscribed/paid, believing it would fix your issue, go here to request a refund.
Why didn't the app automatically update?
Maybe you don't have automatic updates turned on, or maybe the automatic updates took some time to propagate.
What if I can't update to Genius Scan 7.27.1 because I'm stuck on iOS 15?
About 30,000 customers still use older versions of Genius Scan on iOS 15. Unfortunately, Genius Scan currently requires iOS 16 or above. We are working on an update that will restore compatibility with users still running iOS 15. We estimate the update will be ready around April 15.
What caused this problem?
A bug we introduced 10 years ago in the app. This affected every user of Genius Scan starting Sunday, April 6th, 2025.
