What is Genius Cloud?
Genius Cloud is Genius Scan's cloud service that backs up your documents in the cloud and keeps them synchronized between all your mobile devices. It also lets you save space by offloading documents to the cloud.
How much does Genius Cloud cost?
Genius Cloud is available as part of the Ultra plan, which costs $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year. You can subscribe directly from the Genius Scan application with an in-app payment.
What is synchronized?
All documents are automatically saved and synchronized between all your logged in devices. Changes made to documents are also synced with your Genius Cloud account, namely:
- corrections to cropping, dewrapping and rotation
- edits to image enhancement
- changes of page formats
- file renaming
- page ordering
- document tagging
If, for some reason, your documents don't appear up-to-date on one device, check your Internet connection and press the sync status in the top bar of the Documents screen to force its synchronization.
Where can I access my scans?
You can access your documents in the Genius Scan app on iOS and Android, but also on computers by logging into your account at geniuscloud.com
How much storage space do I have?
There is no storage limit in place at this time, and we don't intend to put a hard limit. You can use the service reasonably without worry.
Additionally, Genius Cloud can help you save space on your local device by offloading rarely accessed documents to Genius Cloud. You can still access them from your phone, Genius Scan will download when you open them.
Is this compatible with other storage services?
Yes. With Genius Cloud, you can still export your documents to other apps, such as Dropbox and Google Drive. You can do so manually for each document, or enable Auto-Export to automatically send all your scans and edits in real-time to your desired cloud storage.
Is Genius Cloud required to have my documents backed up?
No. On iOS, your documents are backed up as part of the entire phone's iCloud Backup. On other platforms, you can use the manual backup option.
Genius Cloud is also a synchronization service that runs in the background to save your documents automatically. It makes your documents safer and more accessible.

I have iCloud Backups. Why would I need Genius Cloud?

- With iCloud Backups, it's all or nothing: if you want to restore a backup of your Genius Scan documents, you need to restore the entire phone.
Can you see my documents?
We may have to access your documents in order to troubleshoot issues with your backups or with the synchronization service. In any case, documents are transmitted securely between your devices (HTTPS) and our cloud storage where they are stored securely. We also have put a strong policy in place to respect your privacy and offer a level of protection usually reserved to European individuals.
What happens when my subscription expires?
If you let your subscription expire, your documents will be kept safely for at least six months. This grace period gives you the time to re-subscribe and re-activate your account in a single tap.
